About Us
Evolution Dog Training uses positive reinforcement to help you and your canine companions communicate better.
If you have a dog and want specialized training, you have come to the right place. Evolution Dog Training specializes in rescue and foster dog rehabilitation/training, puppy training, puppy mill dog training to help with the transition into a home, behavior modification and the rehabilitation/resocialization of aggressive dogs.
With experience in rescue and foster dog work, we strive to make a difference in the lives of dogs who have had a rough start in life. We understand how exciting (and sometimes frustrating) it can be to have a new puppy, foster or rescue dog in the home and how long the adjustment period can feel.
Whether your dog comes from a breeder, a shelter, a foster home, a previous owner or a puppy mill, Evolution Dog Training
has a solution for you.
Kendra Coatney, Certified Dog Trainer
Kendra first got involved in dog training in early 2003 when she enrolled at Animal Behavior College.
After her studies were complete at ABC, she enrolled in the apprenticeship program at Sound Animal Services for an additional year of
hands-on learning. Her apprenticeship program helped her gain knowledge of training techniques used by the top trainers in the country. She learned how to handle many different situations with dogs and found that she excelled in helping aggressive dogs. Kendra truly loves what she does and has helped many people with their dogs and puppies.
Kendra currently volunteers with several rescue organizations in the Seattle area. She helps walk dogs, helps with home inspections of potential dog adopters, gives free private training lessons to dogs in foster care, fosters dogs in her home and helps them find loving forever homes and occassionally brings rescue/foster dogs into her home for play dates with her youngest (and most energetic) rescue dog, Nigel (a Skinny Brown Dog) whom she adopted in May of 2006 at the age of ten weeks. She also has Roxy (a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd pictured above) whom she adopted in March 2003 at the age of eight months and Enzo (an American Pit Bull Terrier) whom she adopted in January of 2009 at the age of five years who is now certified through the AKC as a Canine Good Citizen and is working toward becoming a Therapy Dog.
Kendra is a certified dog trainer through Animal Behavior College and is a member of the
Association of Pet Dog Trainers
. Kendra is also certified through the American Kennel Club as an Evaluator for Canine Good Citizen Program.
